Hey everyone! You might have noticed that I haven’t been posting lately.
Over the last couple months, I’ve been thinking a lot about not just what I want to do, but who I want to be, and the intersection between those things and the reality I live in as a normal human being with twenty-four hours in a day, many of which are taken up by non-negotiable tasks like school. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m just trying to do far too much at the moment.
When I transitioned from having a small blog to vent about my personal struggles into lifestyle blogging, I’d intended to actually blog about lifestyle things: food, fashion, craft projects, events… and maybe include some semi-personal posts about more serious topics, written in a serious way.
The thing is, while I do enjoy food, fashion, crafts, etc… they’ve become casual hobbies over the last few years. I hoped forcing myself to blog about them would change that. Obviously, it didn’t, because instead of blogging about them, I blogged about the same personal struggle stuff I always had, only then I felt guilty about not sticking to “my brand.”
My main interests are writing and photography, and I want to do those things professionally.
For a while, I’ve been saying that I want to add my fiction and photography to From Adie, with Love. There are a number of reasons why I never did, but I’ll just say this: FAWL doesn’t feel like the professional space I want to showcase my work.
So, taking into consideration my waning interest in “lifestyle blogging” and my desire for a more professional space to post my writing and photography, I’ve decided to step away from From Adie, with Love and relaunch a new site dedicated to the things that interest me most: creative writing (fiction and nonfiction) and photography. I may also post about other creative endeavors, but writing and photography will be the main focus.
I plan to launch it in the next month or so. I’m aiming for around my birthday in early June. Of course, I’ll post a link here and on my social media accounts (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook), so if you’re not following me yet, I hope you will!
This is not goodbye!
This is just a transitional period while I get my new space set up. I’ll still be available on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook as linked above, as well as in the Dungeon of Loom. So keep in touch! I’ll be around somewhere, little internet addict that I am.
I want to thank everyone who supported From Adie, with Love over the past couple years. Your likes and comments kept me writing when I doubted myself and thought I’d be better off just getting some office job and hanging up my keyboard for good.
I really, truly, deeply, from the bottom of my heart love you all.
I look forward to your new site Adie. My blog is a meandering mish mash of everything so I understand your desire to have a more professional approach. Good luck in setting everything up.

Thanks so much! I’ve liked the freedom of blogging about whatever pops into my head, but at the same time I’d like to have something I can put on a business card lol!

Thanks! I know I kind of disappeared for a while. I’m hoping by cutting down on all the other madness, I’ll free up a little time to catch up with everyone!

I’ve just been looking at your site for the post about therapy, Oct/Nov 2018, the ‘unicorns farting rainbows place’ and the ‘and and place,’ is it still there? Can you send me a link- I am just doing a post linking to it. If not I’ll just link to your page. Thank you!

Hey Sadie. I made all my old posts about therapy/my mental health/other very personal things private. The post you’re referring to is no longer available. Sorry. =/

I’m all for it. As someone whose thing is writing, I’m totally with you!
Do you submit stuff to literary magazines at all? If you haven’t already, check out Submittable and Duotrope for literary magazines looking for fiction and nonfiction. I’ve had a ton of luck using those two sites to get published!

Thanks! And a huge thanks for the suggestions! I’ve always wanted to submit to places, but it seems like by the time I figure out where to send submissions, places aren’t accepting them anymore! It’s great to know there’s a place that will just tell me who’s taking them and where to find them!
